About me

My name is Laurie Wood and I am passionate about supporting families through the incredible journey of childbirth and beyond. With a gentle touch and a compassionate heart, I’m here to ensure you feel empowered and cared for every step of the way.

Before becoming a doula, I spent 30 years as a public school educator, working closely with children and families through meaningful milestones. My own positive birth experiences—including the birth of my first child with the support of a midwife—deepened my belief in the need for compassionate, informed care. I know that birth can feel overwhelming or uncertain, and I believe women have a unique and powerful ability to support all birthing parents through it. As a doula, I bring warmth, calm, and a steady presence to help you feel safe, supported, and confident throughout your pregnancy and birth experience.

I have a blended family of six grown children and nine wonderful grandchildren who keep me closely connected to both the joys and challenges of raising children in today’s ever-changing world. Their presence in my life reminds me daily how each parenting journey is unique—and how important it is to feel supported, heard, and encouraged as a parent.
